The window glass is about $35 from Leica...not too difficult to install...

I had my CL rebuilt by Leica (Switzerland then sent to Solms) after the same misfortune. They can service the CL.

hi, thanks. i loaned it to a friend who removed the "frosty" piece and put in a clear glass. Now, the patch doesn't exist (actually its very very faint).
So i did the next thing, i put in the Voigtlander 15mm/f4.5 and now it is a p&s camera. Focus at 2m, and anything from 0.92 to infinity is in focused.
I may get it fixed one day.

I knocked the rangefinder out of alignment on my Canon P and have been shooting it in daylight using the focus scale on the lenses. If you are stopped down to f/4 or smaller it works quite well. In the subways in NY I shoot entirely from my chest since you can't lift a camera and point it at people on those trains and expect to live.
