curious about modding canon 50/1.4

Has anyone ever modded this to close focus? if so, how difficult?

I've not tried it, not taking one apart unless I get one with dead glass. The annoying thing on the 50/1.4: min focus is 3.5ft instead of 3ft that the 50/1.2 gets to. Go Figure!
