View Full Version : What could this III be worth?
A friend of mine showed me a III, from 1934 that is in very nice condition. It includes the original box with matching serial number and also the hood for the lens. No cap though. Overall I would say it looks very clean and sounds good when firing the shutter.
There is a small pin indentation next to the Leica engraving on the top.
Looks like a model III with slow speed shutter. Could be a "iiic", but would need to check the serial number. Maybe upwards of $300?

By serial number, it should be a III from 1934, but I don't think it should be black.

It is a Leica III, could be worth 450 to 650 dollars with the Summar lens to a motivated buyer.

This is a 1934 Leica III (Chrome cameras didn't come out till mid 1935/at the time this camera was made there weren't any chrome cameras being made at Leitz)
Nice Black III's are getting hard to come by lately..........original matching numbers lens with a hood, (a black backlite cap is only $35) and with the original box (very uncommon) it should push the $600+ value mark easy, tell your friend that it's the best is to sell complete too, breaking up kits this old is sacrilege!

Could be a factory mod to a IIIa
