Filter for Xpan 45mm lens

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows much about the filter to correct light falloff at the edges of the xpan pics. I know hasselblad have their own one-stop centre weighted filter to correct this "problem" but from what ive read it costs a bomb!!!

Would a B+W 49mm Neutral Density 2x (1 stop) filter do the same job????
I can get one of these for $55 Australian so im gonna save myself a small fortune if that will suffice..

If not, can anyone suggest a filter to correct the problem that wont cost me an arm and a leg!! (if such exists)

I use my 45mm without the center filter even though I own one. Pics still come out pretty ok with no apparent fall off. The 30mm is another story though, it does require its center filter.

I used mine extensively with just the 45mm and NO center filter and I have very apparent fall off. But honestly I like it quite a bit. BTW, this was with b&w film.

It needs to be center weighted (darker in the center than near the edge), and whether it would work correctly depends on the gradient of the center weighting.

I have never used a filter with the XPan II and 45mm lense and haven't had problems- with Provea 400 (color slide) and b/w neg. I think it's a matter of personal decision. Do some film tests and have fun.
