I recently acquired this lens (thanks Sam.) There doesn't appear to be much information about it. Anyone have details to share?

It's very well-made, will be shooting with it this weekend, comparing it to a 35/1.8 Nikkor.

I like the 3.5 cm Topcor lens, it is my favorite of the japanese medium speed 35s.
The Canon 35/2.8 is similar, but the Topcor is a little more on the contrasty side and I prefer it to my Nikkor 3.5cm/f2.5 LTM lens.

I've always thought the Nikkor to be quite good, so that is a good endorsement. The build quality of the Topcor is impressive, as well.

Any idea how many of these were made?

No idea, but I only saw one at the camera shows of the late 80s and early 90s in Toronto and that is the one I bought.

Topcor lenses in LTM were never too plentiful, Leotax cameras used them half the time and 50mm Topcor lenses were the common ones on the camera.
Tokyo Kogaku, a very conservative firm, is said to have lost money in producing these lenses, as not much attention was paid to cost of producing these in the LTM era , their bread and butter was on other optical devices.
