Hey Tom:
Would a Luigi case designed for a Leica M + Leicavit-M work with a Leica M + Rapidwinder combo?
I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I can't find the answer in the archives.
Thanks in advance, Bill
Bill, as I never use cases I am not sure. I have seen the Rapidwinder in Luigi cases - but I dont know if these were designated for the Rapidwinder or L-vit.
Must be someone who has combination and can answer on the Forum!
From Leicatime website:
If you use the Tom Abrahamsson Rapidwinder,
or a Leicavit MP, here your perfect case for
your Leica M camera fitted with them.
2 different models, yust ask.
Now, we make also the T. A. or the Leicavit case in the
"built-in-grip" model, for a perfect handling of your camera. Ask

... 2 different models, ...
I guess that clinches it. I read in an older thread that the RapidWinder is about 30% taller compared to the Leicavit - this alone would explain why two variations are necessary.
Thanks for the quick responses.
Luigi has two different cases for Leicavit and Ripidwinder:

Putting a case over a Rapidwinder is like racing the Grande Prix with a car cover on.
I have used the rapidwinder with luigi case in the past. It actually worked quite nicely but reloading is PITA. It is a great combo for heavy lenses.
