Hello everybody!

I am visiting this great forum for quite a while now. And because I recieved a package from Oleg today I could not resist to post a message myself. To introduce myself: my name is Philipp, I live in Munich, Germany. To make time pass I study dentistry

My first rangefinder was a FED-4 (bulky camera, but a nice Industar 61). Only two weeks after I got it from the bay, one of the shutter curtains decided not to do was it was supposed to do. Also the shutter speeds were incorrect.

So I found Oleg's website and purchased a Zorki 1 (latest Version, built '55, eight-digit serial number) which I recieved 4 hours ago. Looks pretty to me! Now I can start to use my Jupiter 3 and 11.

I am looking forward to read more interesting stuff in this great forum! Great to find one which has so members from all around the globe, sharing one (rare?) hobby!

Have a nice weekend!
Philipp

Philipp, welcome to the madness! :D

I had my Zorki 3M overhauled by Oleg and I know the excitement you feel when the package arrives. Enjoy, and post some pics taken with the Zorki 1 !!

Phillip,

May I add my welcome as well. What turn-around time did you experience with Oleg? I was most pleased. Just curious.

Hey, a very nice looking outfit indeed. My Zorki 3M came from Oleg and is my most used FSU. But I don't want to see you carrying all those lenses around. Too much work! Just box them up and send them to me! :D Yeah, I know. There's no need for me to keep an eye on the mail. Ha!

Look forward to seeing you around here. Welcome to RFF!

Very nice! :) Welcome Philipp! I'm a newcomer to Russian Rangefinders (thanks to these guys!) myself. I was lucky enough to get a very mechanically sound red FED 3 from the Ukraine.

I hope you have as much fun as I have had taking my FED out in public! (What IS that?!). ;)

Mike :D

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Let's see: I got the mail from Oleg last week... It took eleven days for the parcel to reach me! Not bad, I thought I will be more.

The outside of my parcel was very "russian": the famous yak-hair, a lot of brown paper, and of course many important documents. But I found the camera itself in a HP LaserJet Print Cartridge box... What a contrast!

Philipp, welcome to RFF. That's a very nice looking Zorki-1 and I'm sure you'll be pleased with it. I'm interested in hearing from you when you've had a chance to use the Jupiter-3. Please tell us how well it does interms of sharpness and bokeh. Others will want to know how the Jupiter-11 does as that question has been raised here on several occasions.

Phillipp,
Glad to have you around here! I bought a Zorki 10 from Oleg and inside the box was some crumpled up newspaper--from a paper in a tiny town in Nebraska(USA)! That struck me as very odd but I figured that Oleg recycles his packing materials and somebody from there must've sent him a camera. Nice Zorki 1 you have there!
