I recently acquired an autronic I. The virtical alignment of the range finder is off, is there a way to adjust this?

also, the focusing knob doesn't use distance marks, just numbers from 2 to 8, Which one is supposed to be the near focus and which one is the far? (I want to make sure that is aligned ok.)

I'll post some pictures after I shoot my first roll. :)

thx.

I've shot about half a role so far, and from what I can tell, the 8 on the knob is near focus and the 2 is infinity.

Here's a link to a manual. (http://www.cameramanuals.org/argus/argus_autronic_i.pdf) Check out the last page. It has a table of the distance equivalents for the "flash finder" numbers

I had found this manual but was missing the last three pages.
Thanks for pointing out this one to me.

I picked up my pictures today, and was totally amazed! Not only did I get most of the pictures in focus despite the the virtical alignment being off, the lens was clear and had a great bokeh. It made my day.

first pic (light signal button thingies) f11 at 1/125th
second pic (my cat) was at f2.8 at 1/60th

A couple more,

the first one (light button) f11 at 1/125th
second one, f2.8 using the bulb setting ( aiming for 1/4th, and using a uv lamp just out of frame on the left.)

I have the Autronic 35. The chrome plate on top of the rangefinder housing came off fairly easily with slow, gentle prying so as not to bend it, and the rangefinder adjustments were under there. I don't know if it's the same on the Autronic I however.

LOL - winner of the ugliest camera - evah! No offense. Cool, though - actually. And who cares if it takes a nice pic.
