I looked through the whole Voigtlander Bessa threads and no thread for sample images at any f/stop for the Nokton 50mm f1.1..
So, I thought I would I'd start one...Maybe, it will be a "sticky" if enough people participate.

I have a few images. I will list the ones I can remember.

I really like that last one, DNG. These are all wide open.

I am very proud of this one--wide-open, scale-focused and shot from the hip! It's on Fuji Minicopy film.

I like #2...Just waiting for their part to come up and play.
#3 is quite interesting with that high contrast copy film.
#1 is like a Alice in Wonderland image.

I'd say ??... I scan with no adjustments, and add a little contrast in post. So, it's not too high.. but not low either. Good for BW., Which may be an advantage in low light photography..to help keep the tonal range long in tooth. The image of my wife (in 1st post) is with florescent lighting mostly and ceiling spots aimed high that has little effect on her, except hot spot reflections.

Great capture..
So, fast action and being in focus can be done..at wide f/stops..
I noticed that at f/1.1 at 6 feet allows a bit of DOF depth for this kind of photography

So what's the deal with the focus shift of this lens? Is it mainly at minimum focus distance? I must admit I'm beginning to drool for this lens. I know they have entirely different signatures, but how does the focus shift of this lens compare to the ZM C 50 1.5?

You have M8/9 ?

I find no FS on my M5... I believe the later models (now currently being sold) may have this issue addressed from other threads I have read.

The Signature is more natural than dreamy I guess. I prefer this look. And the light fall off is less at the corners than the Leitz offerings, from what I have read anyway.

For me, it was a matter of most bang for my dollar. I had one opportunity to equip myself with a nice RF and lenses.. I could of gone with a Current M7 and one or two lenses, or, an older M with 4 descent lenses.. I chose the later.

If it did have a focus shift - how can it be addressed? I mean I thought that focus shift is due to the optical design. Like one is ZM Sonnar 50/1.5 - thats what it does and cant really be "addressed". Now, if some lenses just had some quality control issues - THAT could be "addressed".
Oh, and I still think that CV 50/1.5 is "most bang" for the dollar.

Thanks. I expect you know that Barry Thornton was also a fan of diluted Perceptol (although more famous for devising his own brews). He particularly liked the sharpness of the higher dilutions.

I've never heard of Barry Thornton (I will do my homework) but I dilute it to have a one-shot developer to get consistant results all the time.
Perceptol delivers fine grain, but you have to overexpose a bit. No problem with the Nokton f/1.1.

This thread has saved me $10,000. Thank You!
I've always wanted a Noctilux .95 but can't find one. Then I pull out the Nokton 1.1 and say the heck with the Noctilux, these lenses are very good and what are they 1/3 stop slower, big deal!

I just got an M8 and was having backfocus issues i'd not had with my M6... so a few rangefinder adjustments later, and here are some focus tests

Both shot at f1.1 at minimum focus distance.

I probably posted a couple of these before. Anyway, here's some Disc Golf action from 2011 European Open. Many at 1.1 just for the fun of it.
