Hot Shoe Covers?

Several questions:
are they useful?
does anyone use them?
are they a universal fit?

Thought I might fit a couple on my Oly OMs

When I started, I used them (and X-contact cover plugs) - it was not pleasant to trigger a 200V igniting Metz with your brow or finger. These days and at current flash trigger voltages, I'd rate them more as decoration than as functionally needed.

I think I have one or two somewhere...I've never really used them...If they're not a snug fit you'll lose them...
