Jupiter 9 Flare Problem

Advise please. I have a J9 (black) sharp etc but:-

Indoors - OK
Sun behind me - OK
Sun at an angle - not OK

Is it just a matter of using a lens hood or are there other issues ?

A lens hood is key. I solved my problem with a 39mm lens hood that found on eb*y.

I use a 1'' plus a 2'' Heliopan lens "tube". Those 3 inches are just enough, though sometimes a little vignetting occurs.
