Anyone using one of these cheap Dell IPS screens for photo? Pros and Cons?

You can use any screen to edit if you learn its color idiosyncrasies.

True... but, I'd rather get a bit better than my Macbook Pro screen (calibrated with Eye One) while not spending Eizo / Lacie / NEC IPS cash. I already bought my printer. Also, it isn't a matter of saving, it's a matter of not wanting to spend the cash... I have other things I'd like to do with my money as well.

get it. works great, hard to find cheaper IPS panels. spend the leftover on monitor calibration hardware.

Already have the Eye-One Display 2... should do the job. I'm thinking of going a little higher, but there is nothing in between this @ $299 and $600-700 displays really.

I've been using this as my primary display since May. I find it excellent all around including photos. I also calibrate on the i1 display2. I've heard reports of sample variation but mine is perfect. I highly recommend it. Plus you can always look at my work to see it's not horribly color or contrast off :) Oh check out the refurb section at dell, they have good deals there. Mine was a refurb.

This helps, since I find your photos to look "right" to me. +1 for the dell.
