how many times are you searching through 'that auction site' and see a familiar name from here as the high bidder? I just ran across one of furcafe's future purchases, and it's not the first time I've seen one of our own

I saw that name in a bidding list also and I was trying to remember where I had seen it before. He must be quite active on eBay.

I've bought stuff from BJ Bignell & Dan Iggers before we met on RFF.

Hey, that's right... Now I recognise the name!

Funny how we're all connected.

Yep, I have several things from RFF members whom I realized after bidding. Also got spanked on a bid by someone from here. Hehehehe.

Sheesh, you (sellers) should avoid ebay altogether. Just place a listing here, someone's sure to grab it :)
Avoids the listing fees, too :)

furcafe beats me to all the good stuff.

We obviously have similar tastes.

It *is* a small world, but I'd hate to have to paint it.

Sorry, stole that line from comedian Steven Wright.

I low-ball bid on a lot of stuff to get around the 'Bay's 100-item "watch" limit, but I rarely win the really, really good stuff.

Oh, so you're the one! I get crazy when I see those .99 cent bids that wipe out a reasonable BIN. Argh!

Just kidding - I can't bid on anything anymore anyway.

I have seen familiar faces bid as well; and will put up a cease-fire. Another forum that I joined is for antique digital cameras. I think there are 8 of us on the planet that have an interest in old digital cameras. You recognise the people pretty fast when a "Fujix DS-505" 1.3MPixel camera actually gets a bid!

"Antique digital cameras." I feel SO VERY OLD.

I have a sub-megapixel Olympus D220L. That antique?

I never go to eBay...whoops!!! (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7526314118&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1)

(I'll have to cross post in the "Waiting for the Mail" thread)

D2: That was a great price!

Bill, Nina and I can visit some of our old digital stuff in the Smithsonian! She worked on the Gamma Ray Observatory and I worked on Digital IR sensors over 20 years ago. The computers had banks of blinking lights! I miss those. My first Digital Kodak was over $16K for 1.6MPixels in 1992.

Thanks Brian. Credit where credit is due: I am grateful to a fellow RFF member for passing this along about two hours before it closed. But what am I going to do with another IIa???

Have a great Fourth of July to those that celebrate it, and a great weekend to everyone else! :)
