Iskra - Light Leak?

Got a single bad shot off of one of my recent rolls. I'm not sure what happened. It's on the negative as well, but there isn't any problem with the other shots on the roll. :bang: Any ideas about what may have happened here?

Was it a low light/slow shutter speed shot? If so, you might have compensated by squeezing the back too tightly. Sometimes that can deform a seal or open something up. temporarily.

Yes, it was a relativly slow shot. ISO 100 Fuji Reala into shade and I wanted decent DOF, so you've got as good an idea as anything I can come up with. Good reason to dig out the never-ready case, I suppose.

One of my Iskras had a similar problem, though not as bad. The film path was worn and bare metal was showing through the paint. Most of the time there was no problem, the streak was only there with a shot into the sun. I masked everything and spray painted the worn spots and other film path areas with a flat black paint. No more problems. :) I love my Iskras almost as much as Kodachrome. :D

I had this problem before. This is what I have done: stick velvet onto the corrugated path (both sides) almost flush with rails.

Hmm. I'd just finished a roll, so I have the back cover off. I'm not sure what you're refering to. The corrugated areas on the left (as I look at the rear of the camera) seem black enough. The only thing bright back there is the rolling film flatness pin next to that - is that what is reflecting on the larger stripe down the shot?

Your example looks more like a leak than an internal reflection. If it's intermittent, it suggests that something you are doing during the exposure is triggering the leak.

I'll go back to check. I believe I put velvet onto the area surrounding the opening (6x6) on the both sides, not onto corrugated area. In your case, light spilled on the area surrounding the opening and roller too (some reflection).
