Mobile cameraphones are really handy to have, but extra functions like zoom and focus are typically lacking. Engineer Bhautik Joshi decided to attach an SLR lens to his smartphone, and the results are actually pretty slick.

Looks more like he put the smartphone on the lens! Maybe the way to go would be to find an old 8mm movie camera with a three lens turret that takes "D mount" lenses? I think they only come in chrome though. You could walk around with three lenses sticking out of your ear and nobody would know that you were talking on the phone.

ROFLMAO!! Good one, Al!

All in all, it's nice as a proof of concept I guess, but functional? Nope. Not a chance. You cannot even attach a tripod, how are you gonna use the self timer?:p

that's "pretty slick" ?!?

Why not just buy a box of crayons and a stack of napkins? Yo'd get "digital" images with less hassle and awkwardness. It's the artist and not the medium, anyway, right?

It's cool in a "I chopped the top of an old 72 passenger school bus: now with pics!" type way.

I think that would indeed be cool.

And, why pray tell, do you think they invented BLUETOOTH? :p

No, but if that phone does, one could answer it w/out having to take it out of the pocket.

i wonder if you could re-wire the bluetooth headset to operate as a voice activated wireless remote for the blackberry SLR...

Also, what would the 35mm equivalent focal length on that be? it would have to be massive.

Why not just wear a clown suit?

So would it be more stealthy to wander around muttering "shoot. shoot. shoot." or "click. click. click." ?
Oh, wait, can I have, "By the power of Greyskull, I photograph thee!" as my voice activation phrase?

Ha! That's just too funny!

If I showed that to my wife she'd probably say something like, "Is that a camera in your ear or are you just happy to hear from me?"

My sides are hurting from laughing too much. Think I'll go self-medicate with a beer before the pain becomes unbearable!
