I've got a custom-made camera with a Mamiya Press lens and 6x9 back. I'm looking for a finder for a 75mm lens.

Bob Hutchinson of BIGcamera.com and Mamiya flat top fame recommends a Koni-Omega 60mm finder (designed for the 6x7 back) for my sort of setup (75mm w/ 6x9 back), as a better option than Mamiya's own 75mm finder for the 6x9 back.

Gosh, I hope that's clear.

Can I get a second opinion from someone out there? Is the Mamiya finder that unsatisfactory? Is the Koni-Omega (58 or 60mm) that much more superior? And if so, anyone know where I might find one?

Thanks,

Jonathan

I have only the 65mm finder. It works well, as does all my other Mamiya gear. In fact, I have found it works fairly well at the 6x9 portion for my 50mm lens on 6x7 backs.

I can't imagine why a 75mm finder wouldn't work for a 75mm lens. However, since you seem to have a specially built camera, there may be some reason it wouldn't.

Not an issue of the Mamiya 75mm vf not working with my camera, just of it not being very good--in Mr. Hutchinson's opinion.

Consider the Tewe zoom finder.
