I lived and worked in Japan for a year, more than 20 years ago now. The experience still haunts my visual memory. I would love to return to see more. I'm going to start scanning some of my Kodachrome slides taken there. Here are the first 2 of my best.

My list of photos could be quite extensive. I live in Japan. I am haunted everyday with the idea of living here ;-) These are not the best photos I have taken, but they represent Japan.

I'm a Japanese grew up in Japan, then moved to the US when I was 19. Now I rarely visit there and when I do, I see Japan with both Japanese and foreigner POVs.

I think it's funny that Hiroshimayaki is at every matsuri. I guess all the drinking doesn't make northerners want to look at monjayaki, eh?:rolleyes:

I like the tones and compositions. What film are these shot on if I may ask?Thanks. This is Tri-X, either rated at box speed and developed in a blend of Rodinal and Xtol, or rated at 1600 and developed in Adox ATM49 1+1.

A few years ago I had the chance to teach in Nagoya for six weeks. I took along my family. Lina was 6 months old and Dana was 18 months old. We had to push two strollers. It was a very positive experience for us.

Spent 5 days in Sapporo, was contemplating to contact you or not. Finally choose not to :p (travelling with wife and kid).
Ah Nagoya :) My wife is from Nagoya, we will visit in two weeks for a couple of days again.
We found Nagoya to be just the right size city for us. It was a very safe city, as it is common in Japan.
