I bought a Holga and some 120 Provia and today I loaded the Provia. It is my first time doing anything with film bigger than 35mm. I loaded the film and got to the number 1. But I am worried because the number 1 is upside down. Did I do it wrong?

Im assuming the #1 on the window in the Holga? If so, thats correct, I remember it being the same when I had one..

Yes in the window. So I loaded it right?

Yes, it was the same on mine, not really sure why..? I think there are different # markings on the film backing for different cameras. Holga lines up with the ones that are backwards..

You loaded it correctly. The Holga's takeup spool and winder is on the right. In other medium format cameras they are on the left or above, going vertically so the orientation of the numbers doesn't really matter as long as it counts progressively when you wind the film.

You got it right! And remember, it's a Holga, so if it's right side up or down it really doesn't matter a whole heck of a lot. :D have fun with it!

Yes, this is correct. Did your Holga come with the two different format pieces -- 6×4.5 format or a 6×6 (square) format? If so, make sure you remember which, because when you get prints done, you'll want to ask for square prints if you did the 6x6, or else you'll have white, annoying edges that you'll be forced to crop off ...
Good luck with it! ;)

How many frames should I cut into a strip for scanning on a Coolscan 9000 with either a Nikon FH-869GR holder or maybe a wet mounting holder in the future?

Three frames of 6 x 6.
A whole roll should give you 4 strips of 3 frames.

That's some incredible lighting. I haven't really used too much color film w/ my Holga, but you're making me want to!
