anyone use it? Does it do anything that Picasa or Elements don't do?
I tried the trial of PSP X2 Ultimate (available from the website) and I did not like it at all. Despite being more fully featureed than PSE, but PSP is not as useful. For example, the histogram palette does not show the effect of any adjustment layers which makes it hard to use any adjustment layer, especially the curves and levels layers.
Unlike PSE, it has a true channel mixer but the sliders are incredibly imprecise to the point of being completely unusable. You cannot use the sliders to set to channel values such as 0%, 20%, 50%, 75%, 100%, for example. Therefore it virtually impossible to uses the sliders adjust all values so that they add up to 100%, if you wanted to.
And the RAW conversion for PSP is completely useless. You don't even get to adjust exposure or white balance at all. And you don't get any free updates to support RAW conversion with newer cameras, like with Adobe Camera Raw.
So for that and other reasons I thought PSP was disappointing. PSE is probably a better choice. I don't know about Picasa.
