The Olympus E-P1 gets a lot of flack here and there. Some from me too. But I do like using it, and I'm sure there are a few out there who do too, so lets see some photos you have taken with it!

Here is one to get the ball rolling. This cat should be doing a better job looking after this shop but as they say... good help is so hard to find these days...

There we go. In the couple of weeks I've had this camera, I've become fond of it. It's not exactly a rangefinder but performs a lot better than the p/s I have (had), including here the gx100. These macros were all taken with the standard zoom, 'out of the hand' so not perfect, but even so, show us what the e-p1 is capable of.

Oh alright then...

1. Pop Tart Filter
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2626/3780790537_b37d60ee85.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajshepherd/3780790537/)
(yes, I know it's really called the 'Pop Art' filter, but a friend of mine coined the 'Pop Tart' description for it and I always think of it as that now)

2. Pinhole filter
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3430/3781287168_02a646bac7.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajshepherd/3781287168/)
Actually, this looks better than the default picture (I always shoot RAW, which saves an unblemished RAW and a filtered JPEG - or you can add effects in the Olympus software later)

3. Grainy B/W filter
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2577/3781268158_6466489908.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajshepherd/3781268158/)
(Actually, I think this effect is maybe too contrasty, but this example looks pretty good, especially on a print)

4. With Voigtlander 15mm Super Wide Heliar fitted

The 15mm lens works quite well - bags of DOF, who needs autofocus?

Here is a shot that is pretty different then my normal affair. Took this on my trip back to the states this summer. Taken on Mount Rainer with the Zeiss 50mm f2 Planar ZM lens. When looked at 100% its obvious the camera is not capturing what all the lens can give it, but as for a cheap crutch to use my M mount lenses in the digital world, fine.

I have been fortunate to be able to borrow a EP-1 and it is a fun camera. My only complaint is getting out of enlarged manual focus. I wish pushing the shutter release would take you back to normal view. But I have no problems with the image quality.
Here are 3 shots, the Howdy Doody image using a Leitz Elmar 90mm/4.0 wide open. The ceramic fish was using a Nikkor 50mm/2.0 H RF lens at 2.8. And the flower was the Nikkor 50mm/2.0 H set at 18" close focus.

Avotius, I really like your images as usual. The noise, combined with the rich color really works.

In general, the higher iso images look better to my eyes. Low iso looks too plasticy and digital. Wasn't really thinking of getting one of these but some of these photos have whet my appetite.

Yep it's a Tiger Moth. My girlfriend surprised me with a 30min instructional flight for my birthday. Once we had taken off I spent most of that time actually hands on flying. Fantastic and very 'seat of the pants' flying!

Very little post. Tighten the curves a smidge, re-size and sharpen. Some I added 10% saturation as it was a very overcast day.

I was going to take the Pen in the cockpit with me but decided against any distraction. Wish I had of. It would have been perfect for some shots as we came into land and the plane was not under my control (luckily).

She was armed with my old Canon 20D and took the following.

I'd been neglecting my Pen over the winter, so took it out last Friday (despite the bitter cold and blustery sea-front winds), and did a bit of post-processing on these shots...
Cropped square, with the soft focus filter applied after the fact in the Olympus Master software:-
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4048/4389463447_86f9767a3d.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajshepherd/4389463447/in/set-72157623513431354/)

Using the 'Grainy Film' filter, which I'm not a great fan of (if I want grainy black and white I'd rather stick a roll of Ilford HP5+ in a film camera) but I think quite suited the subject matter here.

What lens did you use for that first shot. I really like the color rendition. Nice work on all these.

Nice images, everyone! I'm Loving the Pen. Never liked a digital camera before, either.

Lovely picture Federico. And a lovely treatment also.
But......didn't you miss something above the horns? ;)

Definitively something was hanging from the electrical wires...

Although it could have been dirt in the glass of my car.

At any rate, that's the risk we incur when shooting from a moving vehicle. Take this one, for example:

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4053/4562510816_c84aeee1e3_m.jpg
(http://www.flickr.com/photos/21122418@N07/4562510816/)
While the helicopter glass was relatively clean, its own curvature introduces distortions and reflections that are very difficult (if not impossible) to clean up. What does one do then? Because the alternative is to trash such a shot, in spite of the landscape captured...

Straight out of the camera with no manipulation: full frame and cropped image. My question for digital M owners is simply this, would this digital image quality be as good from an M8 or M9 setting aside from the 2x crop factor? To be fair I could shoot with a 50 and ask how it compares to a 90 on an M9. Given the high noise levels of the M8, I should be limiting my comparison question to the M9 which tested similar to the noise level of the E-P1 or 2 in Popular Photography.
