Hi everybody!

I got a cl and although shutter works perfectly the speed indicator in the viewfinder is always misplaced one stop. You choose 1/60 for example, but the marker shows 1/30. At B itīs just displaced further to the left outside the speed scale, like the whole thing is not in the correct place.

Moreover, from 1/4 on , a weird red thing appears on the "correct exposure" area, I donīt know if this is an indicator to be shown someway, the fact is that it just looks like itīs not working properly.

Iīm testing the camera with no batteries, but I donīt think these marking faults come from the lack of power.

Does anyone have any idea whatīs going on with this cl??

Thanks!

what lens u use?? I notices if I had a 35mm, the shutter indicator is a bit off, but with a 50mm it will be fine.

I got it with the summicron 40 but it does the same with a 50 DR.

Ed, I wonder whatīs that red thing I see in the viewfinder. Itīs goes out right where the "correct exposure" area is. Can you check yours and tell me if this is some kind of indicator you see when using the B setting?

The red flag indicates shutter speed to low. I have the CL manual in PDF format if you need it just PM me your email address.

Thanks Andy!

I got the manual too but found no mention about this. Maybe I red it too fast :)

Just took a look, if I use the 35mm, the shutter speed indicator is a bit to the right when I am at 1/30 or slower, when I am at 1/2 sec the red indicator is actually on the 1/2 but the lower section of the red indicator is right below the 4. The indicator seems to be better with the 50mm. The red circle dot is shown when the speed shutter is at "bulb"

thanks guys!

Since I have no batteries I cannot check the meter but what I see is that moving the din/asa dial also moves a little bit that red thingy, up to the point that at 400 asa the red dial itīs completely out of place. Looks weird isnīt it?

Folks, I was wrong on my previous post on the red circle, it will show on the meter scale when the shutter speed is way too slow. I just discovered this after I play with the iso dial.
Please forgive me as I just got my CL for 2 weeks:)
