The used M8 market is in a state of flux right now. You might want to wait a couple of months for it to find a ‘new’ bottom.

Since no one knows if there will be a full frame M9, and what it will cost, there is currently no way to value the M8.

Right now certainly not much over $2000, but if there is no M9 or it is very expensive that could go up, if it is very cheap that will go down.

Yeah, who knows? New or like new M8.2's (a $6000 camera) are going unsold for $4000 because of the pending (assumed) M9 announcement in a few weeks. I've seen M8's sitting around with $2300 prices on them.

Certainly a used M8 or M8.2 should sell for less than a refurbished version, which has box/papers/software and a one year Leica warranty. The current price of an M8 refurb is US$3k or less.

Most are still going for significantly more than $2000. There are plenty of recent sales on eBay - most over $2600- with a range from $2200 to $2700+.

So if you are selling, look for $2600. Buying? try for $2200.

Any suggestions on where to look for refurbished models? I never see them anywhere. Thanks.

If you are in the US, PopFlash Photo, Tamarkin and E.P. Levine, for starters. If you're in the UK, I think Robert White has them. I am sure there are other dealers in the US and UK.
