Hej Tom, I understand you were a press photographer in Sweden back in the old days. Did you by any chance work for Dagens Nyheter? A while ago, I bought this very nice Serenar 50/1.8 with the engraving "Tillhör Dagens Nyheter" ("Property of Daily News", for those of you that don't read Swedish...).

That's engraving done nicely.

We've all seen the other type: The Social Security number, name or phone number scratched into the metal with a nail, an awl or that ever-popular electric engraving tool from the 1960s.

Antti - never worked for DN and it was one of the papers that we all aspired to work for as being the Big One!
Interesting that they used a Canon lens - most papers supplied M lenses and bodies and later Nikon F's.

Used one of these excellent lenses for 17 years. I was lucky to get it with the correct hood.
