hello.
my FED3B has a dark viewfinder. i find it hard to shoot interior shots. it's like peering through a pair of sunglasses. work if you're under the sun but it is proving difficult.
help.
One option is cleaning, another is a turret finder.

thank you.
hello.
my FED3B has a dark viewfinder.
A supplementary finder may be what you need. If you are using a 50mm lens, the Voigtlander Kontur finder is as big and as bright as it is possible to be. They can be found very cheaply on eBay.
Bai, just clean it following the instructions in the sticky. Makes a world of a difference! :) (Good to have another Pinoy using a FSU RF ;) )

All FEDs from 2 through 5 have this dark viewfinder. It's made this way to increase the contrast between the RF patch and the surrounding. Cleaning can help a bit, but it will still be darker than ost other cameras. Zorki-5 and 6 have similar size of VF, but much brighter - about as bright as Zorki-4.
I've read that FEDS were the local comsumption version of Zorkis - in other words, that they weren't as well-made. Any comments? I see a lot of references to FEDs, but the ones I have don't seem as good as the Zorkis. I have three FED-2s, and a couple of them have a bit of trouble getting the backs on & off.
I doubt that any Zorki is 'better made' than a Fed-2. In general, I would say that the Feds are just as good as the Zorkis of the same era.
