the english version of the site has no mention of euros, just $1,999.

Pickett, I think you are right, just a translation screw up. I wanted this camera so bad to be $1,500. USD so I could justify the purchase, then I thought ahh... what's another $500. making it $2,000.USD. BUT at $2,500/2,600USD it ain't going to happen for me... 8-(

In that case they better ship the total production for the west to the US. Or put a ticket to New York + 2 nights there in the German package. The rate is $ 1.30 to the Euro now. Brooklyn bridge would be nice content on 56x68 mm for a virgin Bessa III.

Well, I would guess the street price might be around 1600 - 1800 euro in Germany. But maybe not - depends on how many of the 5000 pieces they will get ...

The price is "a bit" too high for me, but so is the weight - I hiped for some 800g. The Bronica RF645 seems to me more intresting now. The lens is a tad long for a travellers camera (my opinion) 65 - 70 might have attracted more people, maybe ... Anyhow - let's see how it performs.

While I hate so say so, I think if you wait a few months after the rush the price will drop. Early adopters from CV pay for it in cash rather than blood as those that are early adopters of Microsoft products.
