The photos on your website are VERY good commercial work.

The camera is just a Zorki that's been painted and reworked. It's a slightly high price but if you like the way it looks why not?

I wish some of these FSU sellers would put this kind of care into fixing up these Zorkis and Feds and just leave the names Zorki and Fed on them.

Dont know of the seller. He seems honest as he states its a copy (fake) from a zorki or fed.
Price seems high tho the zorki 1 and fed 1 all seem to be taking an upward hike lately, he has a nice all black one as well (I dont like the pimped up colors !).
The Zorki 1 is a fine simple camera easy to work on and clean and lube, I like it cos it looks like the real thing at a sensible price, could never see the point in paying $600 + for a 70+ year old worn out Leica !.
BTW years ago had full leica system M visoflex Focomat II etc so am familiar with the brand.

Right on mate, tho he does have some honest ones in his list.
I need the front screws and rangefinder lens and bezel for my #2 Zorki I,
so may even have to get another Zorki or Fed to finish the project or maybe strip the top off and make a model A copy. At least I can make the Zorki I run sweet and quiet as compared to my Keiv 4 attempts !

Thank-you on both counts

If you want a Zorki 1 buy one. If you want a Leica, save up for one. Don't buy a Lorki..they are poor, pathetic transmutations in our camera r/f world...wouldn't impress the comrades in Johnston Street either. Collingwood forever!

I'd rather them spend the time and effort working on the mechanism rather than painting and engraving.

If it's going in a Cabinet, fine. Otherwise buy one that has been rebuilt from someone you can trust.

There was a long thread on this vendor a while back. I seem to remember a very mixed bag on him. In my experience "refinished" FSU's are very risky in that the performance is very much dependent on the tech who took it all apart. Given the way these things are marketed I would think it would be a very low end job.

I would get a good basic FSU or save up for a Leica IIIc.

That's not going to fool even the uninitiated - Leica never made anything in those sort of colours! Be aware that the paint job is likely not to last well and that the camera used was probably too worn out/scruffy to sell as it was, hence the "conversion".

I agree with the others, buy a serviced Zorki/FED 1 or save up for a real Leica II (also serviced!). A properly working Zorki/FED 1 will do as good a job as the Leica, it just isn't as well made or smooth to operate.
