Smena Symbol - Shutter Cock problem

I picked up a Smena Symbol for a couple of quid and it arrived today. I checked that the shutter and the shutter cock worked and they did, I then moved the film rewind nob and the shutter cock jammed.

I was wondering if any of you know if this is normal and how I fix can fix it (do I have to put some film in, or something equally as simple)?

Just to say I've fixed it, I took the top off and the spring for the shutter cock mechanism had come off, I re-attached it and it all works now.

I hope my post is not too late. I’m not technically proficient to dismantle my Symbol. I picked mine up from the Lomo folk’s Russian deadstock. You might want to contact them to see if they have a suggestion.

On the other hand it might not be worth the fix.
