A pleasant, warm Sunday afternoon with the G1 near UNM in Albuquerque.

The first image is an in-camera JPEG, the rest are developed in SilkyPix from RAW, then imported to PS6.0 at TIFFs. 14-45 kit lens.

Nice set of pictures, some of them would look really nice in BW. Do you use the G1 as a BW camera or only in color?

Thanks for your comments, Leo. I've thus far only used the G1 for color, especially because along with the camera itself the SilkyPix RAW editing program supplied by Panasonic does a good job on color files, But there's plenty of potential I see with the camera. I've seen other's G1B/W images that, at higher ISO in dim light, presents a rather film-like grain. The color noise at high ISO is nothing to write home about (or so I'm told) but in B/W it's another story.

I also yesterday fashioned a pinhole to the G1 body cap and made a few shots around the yard as a test. Just as I expected: the u4/3 format's short flange distance means that, for pinhole, you'd need a laser cut or EMS electron microscope aperture; I can only handmake quality pinholes about 1/3mm in diameter; any smaller and they're irregular in shape.

Joe - very nice set. The "Books" sign shot is extremely well thought out.
