View Full Version : Robert Frank interviewed on NPR
sweet, thanks for the link! just bought the americans yesterday.
although the new "looking in" version is available, i'm not sure if i would read all the extra stuff.
I plan to get teh looking in version when Ican afford to. Im interested to see the contact sheets. Enjoy the interview!
Thanks for the link, pesphoto.
I had pre-ordered the new publication of The Americans, so I've had it since it's release. But now I wish I would have known about the "looking in" version, because I want to learn more about Frank's shooting process. I'm sure I'll get that version too.
one of the reasons i didn't want the looking in book is that it's ginormous and kind of distracts from the rest of the book. at the bookstore, they had copies availble but all wrapped up unfortunately.
Thanks for the link! A great listen. I have both the Americans and Looking In: The Americans. I concur that while 'Looking In' is great, spending time with the original is a little more "pure" of an experience. 'Looking In' is a little unwieldy to handle, but what a trove!
Youre welcome, glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for the link. I'm looking forward to seeing the new book. I've seen a Frank "Americans"era contact in a private collection. It had I think at least two famous images on that roll and the rest were pretty nice too. He is damn good. I have a lot of respect for his work.
