View Full Version : The Gallery is temporarily closed
We are performing maintenance over the next few days and have closed the gallery for uploads. Once we are done, we will allow new uploads again.
Thanks
But ... but ... but ... I just spent an hour cloning the dust spots out of this really awsome pic of my cat that was gonna blow everyone's socks off! :p :p :p

Intersting, as I haven't been able to upload new pics (or create new Gallery sets) for the longest time. What's that about?

Bump.
Darn, I wanted to see Keith's cat.
I've got a few shots waiting as well. I guess there will be a flood when it reopens.
I was wondering why there was so little action!
Ok it's been long enough!
The gallery is usually the first place I go to when I log onto RFF to see who's posted any interesting pics while I was away ... sigh!
:p
Oh, I see now. I have been wondering where is the uploading button in my gallery for the past few days. Will wait. :)

Keith, you live in Australia and the best you can post is your cat!

Hey anything .... even a cat would be better than this sad message!
This category does not contain any images.

Stephen: Understood, and I'm patient.
But I'd still like to know why I haven't been able to upload a single blessed image for months, even though the system tells me I'm using precious little server space, and have plenty left to plunder. (I'm not too greedy, honset.) :)
Edit: Love that cat pic, Keith!

Because some photography talent scout has spotted all the exceptional work and you're currently negotiating a price for the rights to it all? :D
We give up ... why? :)
At least give us a clue!

Oh boy! Exciting news to come?
Keith, I will join you with an Australian cat; this is Cira, and this is how I wake up most mornings.
Sometimes though, she's facing the other way. I don't take photos of that end...
Fergus.
How about a shot of the neighbour's cat?
I hope they get the gallery working soon.

We are in the process of installing the site onto a new faster server with much greater storage capacity.
The first step was to copy over the gallery.

Keith,
Do you use that cat to protect you from the wombats and dingos. Looks quite capable of taking on several at a time, and that before breadfast.
Stephen, one mysterious thing I noticed about the gallery thumbnail view is that the upper left border of the thumbnails used to have links to "My Photos My Albums My Favorites" that now is missing the first link, the My Photos one. I hope that will reappear when the the gallery is finally settled-in on the new server.
Good luck on getting this done without loss of data!

Never mind Wombats and Dingoes - that cat could stare down a Drop-Bear ;)

I'll tell you a funny story about that cat which proves that with enough available fur and a bit of a stare ... bravado and attitude can be perceived where it doesn't really exist.
The first time she ever spotted a snake she completely lost the plot and became totally neurotic to the point where we eventually gave her to a friend who lived in town ... where she eventually calmed down again.
After the encounter with the snake, a small one I might add, she decided that she was going to spend the rest of her life on top of the TV cabinet/entertainment unit ... where she spent all her time staring at the floor with a wild eyed expression of total panic and fear!
She'd always exhibited some pretty wacky behaviour from the time we got her ... but the snake encounter really unhinged her! :p

Do any of the Higher Authorities have an idea of when the Gallery will re-open?
