If the 75mm frameline is what you're primarily interested in, you should consider the Leica 1.4X screw-in viewfinder attachment which makes the 75mm frameline dominant whenever the 50/75 framelines are in use. This is what I use with my 75 Summilux.

The M6, M6ttl, M7 and MP are all available in versions with a 0.85 magnification viewfinder as well. This is useful for shooting longer lenses as it offers an enlarged view. The downside is that the framelines for 35m lenses are more difficult to see and the 28mm lines are absent altogether.
Additionally, Leica and 3rd party companies make screw-in adapters that allow magnification of any viewfinder. These come in 1.25, 1.35, and 1.4 X magnification factors. Combined with the "standard" 0.72 magnification viewfinder, the options range from 0.90 to just over 1.0.

most Ms can be retrofitted with a newer VF having the 75 line but it is rather expensive
I just had it done to an M4-2. It's not all that expensive to have done. Remember, we're talking Leicas. An empty box on ebay is also expensive.

I put the 75 lines in my M5, that was more involved but mostly because my original frames were useful to Sherry for restorations- we ended up working out a deal on a whole MP VF. Still pricey, but the 75/2 AA handles like a dream on an M5.

Bubba was born a normal M5 and got his 75mm framelines from DAG. I don't think Bubba's VF is a fancy MP finder, but the 75mm framelines are there.

I really like my M4-P, too. Even prefer to use it over my MP3, which only has 35mm, 50mm and 90mm frame lines.
