Has any one found a source for the G1 body only. I have no need for a kit lens. i thought they were going to offer it in a body only configuration.

Nothing on offer yet. Maybe never. I don't think anyone knows for sure.

I have been watching this camera like a hawk, and not seen a body only kit. But, since I can buy the one lens kit for $550, I'll take the lens, considering the comments about how competitive it is with Leica glass. If I choose not to use the kit lens, I would think I could recapture $125 or thereabouts selling the lens alone as slightly used.

i have read that body only is available only in japan and the language is locked on the controls and it's japanese.
btw, the kit lens is great and worth having.
I think that Panasonic is marketing the camera to a group of users that is not interested in a body-only option. I'm psyched because it can be "hacked" to take M-mount lenses. The target group is supposed to see this as a baby step to real dSLRs from dP&Ss. This is supposed to be their first interchangeable lens camera.
I feel like such an early adopter/edge case. :D
.
I wonder if they will offer the camera with other configurations when the other lenses come out, or maybe by then they will already have that HD cam out. A G1 7-14 kit would be nice!

Panasonic should make a G1-M version with built in M mount.

Looks like I'm better off to wait until after PMA and get the G1H (http://www.1001noisycameras.com/2008/09/catching-up-wit.html) with the 14-140 as the kit lens.
