The BBC has an online exhibition of a modern day photographer's (David White) photos of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's engineering achievements.
David White had a large format camera built appropriate to Brunel's time.
The famous photograph of Brunel was made by Robert Howlett who died at 27 years old, likely as a result of the chemicals which photographers used at that time.
So although David White used a similar camera he used modern materials.
