Time for another print swap!
It's been a fair while since the last one (sorry), so here's a quick briefing on what the swap entails.
Here are a few basic ground rules:
1. Prints (matted or otherwise) should be sized around 8x10 inches.
2. Silver halide prints (for B&W) or lab prints (for color) are highly recommended, though feel free to use a laserjet if you feel that best represents your work.
3. After sign-ups are closed, I'll draw names and post the list in this thread. You should aim to have the print packaged and mailed within a week of notification.
4. If there are an odd number of participants, I will partner with somebody to make an even number of us involved.
5. Realize that this is a project of international scope--you might be paired with an RFFer in another country; be prepared to pay shipping accordingly.
If you've participated before, let me know who you've been partnered with so you don't get the same swap partner twice.
To sign up, e-mail (erikhaugsby AT gmail DOT com) or PM me with the following data:
User name
Real name
Mailing Address
Previous swap partners (if applicable)
Sign-ups will be open for about a week, as usual. I'll draw names after closing sign-ups and then notify everybody of their partners.
Remember, this swap is entirely dependent upon user participation; the more we have involved, the more fun and variety everybody has. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me.
(I know somebody on pNet just put up ideas for a print swap on their site, but I feel we have enough diverse patrons to run simultaneously. Besides, this one has been around longer :p)

(Joe, could you unsticky the old Print Swap 11 thread and replace it with this one?)

Email sent! But.... shouldn't this be Print Swap 13??? or is this like the (lack of) 13th floor in a building? I thought the last swap was number 12.
PM sent: I am so happy to join this great project once again!
Thanks, Erik.

I'd like to join in. I'll do my best to make a nice print (inkjet - sorry).
Do we choose our own picture to send, or is there a theme?

I'm in. I print on Gold Fibre Silk, but I'd be happy to receive a print on anything as long as the photographer is proud of it ;-)
Mine will be a crappy image on super duper great golden diamond paper!

Hello,
I'd like to participate, haven't done one before.
On holiday next week though is this a problem?
I'm in Holland.
Regards Jaap
Jaap,
You need to send Erik a pm or email with your personal data.
Welcome.

I'm going to have to sit out this one. I've been off-line for about a week with a broken computer. My brand new one from Vision Computers arrived and we got it all set up today. I'm way behind.
Suggestion! This would solve the problem of an odd number of submissions.
Arrange all the submissions at random in a big circle on the floor. Send each print to the person next to it on the right (clock-wise). Or you could do it the other way..LOL

Looking forward to seeing the pairing. Im ready to go too after my 7 hour long printing session yesterday. second vote for AL!

If Al really wants in, I'd be overly rude to say no. The list can always be re-compiled, no?

Thanks, Plummerl, but I PROMISE to join the next one. Honest!
On another note, I'm just feeling my way around this new computer and learning this new version of Windows. I need to figure out how to disable the "pop-up blocker". I just screwed up and lost a private message. PLEASE just email me instead. Thanks.
preacherpop42@aol.com is the address and I do reply to emails.

You should still be able to retrieve the PM Al. On the upper right of the screen, you'll see "private messages" as a link. Good luck with the new computer.

FYI: I've got the participant list compiled, but I am holding its release until I receive the email addresses from a few people. If I don't have your address, you should have received a PM.
appendum: there are a total of 12 participants, including myself. Not too shabby, guys!

Erik,
Yes, I have. I am referring to the mailing address. Mike has sent me his address today.

Erik: I seem to have fallen through the cracks since you initially replied as I don't see my name on the pairings. But don't sweat it.
If anyone wants to do a one-on-one print swap, drop me a line. E-mail is best. Bob at BobMichaels dot ORG. You will get multiple prints but feel no obligation to send more than one.

Bob: you have a PM
To all affected: I apologize if my records keeping has, even if now rectified, kept you from participating. I have successfully led this swap two times in the past (I took over for Tom a few swaps back) and this has been the first time that I have inadvertently created problems.
No problem, Erik. I noticed Mauro was not there.

Pipal: the next swap will occur around February, 2009.
Thank you, Erik.
I will try to be alert, then. I have missed more than this one latest as it usualy happens at my bussiest days. But one day, I will join for sure, let's see.

Attaining a new Print Swap record, Jason and I exchanged prints at the Big Time over a few beers today. I received a very nice print and had some great brews with nice conversation. :)

Jason: I'm glad to hear that you and Larry found another dimension to the print swap. It's always cool to see a platform like this swap evolve to more than I could have anticipated.
How are the rest of you guys?
Hello friends!
I have exchanged the mail address with Bob, and within the end of this week the prints will be mailed to him.
It is always a pleasure to join such an interesting project!

I've just came from post office with your print, too! Thank you, Mattia! I like it a lot.
My print to Bob was mailed last Saturday, so I suppose it will be delivered soon.
Yesterday I received the prints from Bob: a great job!
I am convinced that RFF is a bunch of talented photographers (and a great site where we can meet new friends!).
Thanks Erik, I am already looking for the next edition.

Last week I got my Christmas gift from my, Mauro, my print exchange partner. It was a lovey local (Italy) custom made camera strap. We exchanged prints last month and both were pleased.
I just want to know, did anyone else's partner send them a Christmas gift and photo Christmas card?

I'm glad to see everybody seems to have a positive response to this swap; I'm looking forward to the next time I bring a swap together. For those interested, it should happen within three months-look for a new post in the Photo Projects sub-forum.
