Thanks for these beautiful photos. The stitched together panormas are awesome looking. The clarity is stunning and so are the colors.

We (Americans) rarely see photos of upper middle class life in China -- the park photos are predictable but the housing tracts are fascinating -- keep photographing the suburbs!

I wonder if perhaps you could post some sample photos?
Raid, these are not stitched together they are full frame from the Horizon Russian swing-lens panoramic camera. One of the disadvantages of the swing lens is that if the camera is not level then you get a curved horizon line. These are very interesting photos, especially as Frank says, the ones of the wealthy community, but I wish the horizon did not have to be always centered in the picture. Tough choice because if the horizon is high or low in the frame, it gets really distorted, that's just the way the optics work in this type of camera.

I agree; we often see photos of skyscrapers of China but we hardly ever see photos of rich peoples' houses there. I am quite impressed by the beauty of the surroundings.

I have such a camera, and I attest for ther sharpness of photos you can get out of its lens. Some people claim that the 202 is not a well built camera, but this is not fully true.

Even so I was delighted to see the scaffolding being used. That looks like
what I used to see in Korea many years ago. However they tended to use
wooden poles (trees) rather than bamboo. It seems primitive to
Westerners, but it is obviously quite practical. All the photos are great. I
particularly like the ones of the pagoda-like structure on the water. Those
sunsets are really great behind that structure.
Thanks for the great photos. Did the people always know they were in the
photos? I see some of them looking at you. Was it just out of curiosity
at seeing a strange camera, or did they know what you were doing?

I always got sharp, even photos from my older Horizant, but it would also "chew" the film up. How is your Horizant's film transport? Are your exposures always even?
You don't see many photos of upper class dwellings from Russia either....

Very nice photos, Alex.
What scanner do you use to scan panos? You seem to have very good results with them!

I just need to get back CD-ROM:D
I have to find a commercial scanning offer for panorama 35mm negatives in the USA. Scanning such negatives at home will not result in this sharpness unless I purchase a flatness adapter.

I dug up my 202 a week ago, so that I would use the camera again. This thread has reminded me for sure that my 202 needs a workout soon.
