I saw a lens "Braun Staeble Cassarit 2,8/50" listed as M39, but I am kind of skeptical if its really a M39 usable w/ Leicas and other LTM cameras or was this lens specifically designed for Braun Paxette?

Well, it is an M39 lens and mechanically, it fits. However, focusing will be terribly off due to different registration.

No, it is for a Braun Paxette camera.

Distance to film plane different, for starters.

that's too bad, there is one going really cheap on the bay.

It's not that great of a lens. Schneider made a nice lens for the Paxette, though, and there are also some Carl Zeiss lenses for it. Also, there were rangefinder-coupled and uncoupled versions. Unless it has an -E- on the lens, it may not be rangefinder-coupled. But it won't work anyway, as mentioned. It only works on Super Paxettes with the removable lens mount (some were not removable) and DeJur D-3 cameras (hard to find).

I have 50/2.0 Luxon that was modified into LTM by Brian. I used the lens yesterday. The Luxon is very hard to find on sale [for the Paxette].

got the luxon f2 and the telenar 90 for the paxette (and the paxette obviously)... it's a nice little camera (quite compact) with some good lenses...

by the way it's not a schneider lens... but a Roeschlein Kreuznach
