How to "COLLAPSE" an early model Elmar 50mm F2.0 that I recieved with my M2?

Just don't want to break it.

Also, it has an "infinity lock". Do you ALWAYS need to lock it when changing the aperture.

Thanks in advance for reading this post!

Turn the lens front part counterclockwise and push in.

No need to lock it. Just when collapsing the lens.

Hello:

You probably have either an Elmar or a Summar Summicron. Elmars are f2.8 or f3.5. Summars f2.0 .

In either case,Grasp the entire front ring and turn firmly clockwise, preferably with the infinity lock in place. Gently push the lens barrel down.
