For a while here at RFF the answer was Canon P, then M3, then M2.

How about a camera with sharp 35mm lens, built in meter with AE and manual setting, super rugged construction, and that you can take into the harshest environments like dusty, sandy, and wet?

I propose the next - everyone should have one camera: a Nikonos V.

Absolutely. I only have a IVa, and think it is a must. A V must be even better

I think everyone should have a drink, and a D-Lux 3.

I think everyone should have a simple half-frame camera: Olympus, Agfa, Penti, whatever works.

And if not a half-frame, then a 24mm x 24mm.

I'm with sepiareverb. Stoli and (fresh) tonic for me, please.

But hold the D-Lux 3: my pocketable poison's a Ricoh GR-1 and a few rolls of whatever suits my mood. FOr something that doesn't quite fit the pocket, a Konica Auto S3.

I'll have a shot of my fave Mongolian Vodka and hold the dot, I'll have a Panasonic DMC LX3. But until that dream comes true, I'll use the film camera everyone would benefit from owning: Contax T.

FrankS you are an evil man. I just took a look at a Nikonos V online and now my life won't be complete without one.

Actually, I've been looking for a camera to shoot while sailing and for some reason I imagined a Nikonos would only be useful under the water.

Thanks for bringing this up . I'll definitely look into getting myself one of these babies.
