Rubber eyepiece for Canon L1?

MY L1 has a metal ring for an eyepiece that does violence to my eyeglasses. Has anybody found a rubber eyepiece that fits over the metal one?

Cut one from the thicker material in Jon Goodman's (interslice on ebay) seals kit?

For another option (while still in the hardware store) pick up an 'O' ring that will surround the metal and contact cement it in place. Don't guess - take tour camera with you.

(Care to guess who has a collection of 'wrong' sizes?)
