another month has come and nearly gone (& i still have not posted a new photo yet) and that means it's time for a new topic for shooting.

so, for june, and something a bit different, this month's subject is not a person, place or thing - it's a time!

this month we photograph saturday morning !

(or if you work on saturday - sunday morning)

just think, people from all over this crazy globe will be shooting at the same time - together.
(please don't get into all the time zone stuff, it will just confuse me and ruin the illusion)

You're not the only one. I haven't developed my rolls either.

Damn, that's when I normally sleep in after catching up with my mates the night before! I guess won't be posting anything in June then.

I managed to get a couple of reds this time. I just didn't scan them. This one, Saturday/Sunday morning, sounds a lot more challenging. Let's see what others come up with. I'll be applauding from the sidelines! :)

Ah, I get up at 5 am everyday, of course pictures of me and my son in our pajamas playing Transformers probably isn't what you want to see. This will work.

Guys, I'm pheeling phrustrated over the June photo project. My local lab, who have done really nice work, remarkably good scans I think from processed film, now aren't. They have new machinery which is evidently giving them fits, as their current "pro" level processing is putting out scans with NO color corrections. YUK. And the negs are covered with dirt, like they dropped them on the floor or something....

So, I'm now taking the counter girls' suggestions and having them hold all my processing until the lab gets its act together. It's been since early May now already, going by the poor output quality, with another couple weeks estimated... Grrrrr.

Looks like I'll be considerably delayed in submitting the Saturday Morning shots. They're mostly at the nearby Farmers' Market.... We shall see. Eventually!

I've been away for awhile and only read this today (Jun 28). Don't think I'll have time to get anything ready for the June theme, so I'll wait to see what's up for July.

I actually surprised myself this month. The image of my yard that I posted, my scan, actually came out better than the print, and I didn't do any manipulations on it.

Doug, is there a bright side, do you get to go talk to the counter girl more often now, just checking on the status of things?

I did manage to comply with a "Saturday Morning" shot... then I decided to try my hand at photos of garage sales and they suddendly disappeared from the landscape.

Oh, well... This idea of projects is fun. It gives me something of an idea to keep in mind, and not just go around aimlessly.

Garage sales! That's an idea...

Rover, thank you for looking on the bright side. There usually is one if you look for it. :-)

Well, the pretty girls had 4 rolls of processing for me this afternoon, which had been waiting on their new 'pro' machinery coming on-line. Wow, couldn't wait to see if the negs were clear of dirt and the scans nicely color-corrected at high resolution!

No joy! Each of the 4 CDs had 22 files amounting to about 5.1 Mb each, two 1.6Mb ".exe" files named Viewer and a bunch of smaller .exe, .dll, and .ini files. Not a single .tif or .jpg to be seen.

It's like I was seeing inside a folder/directory for the viewer utility, and couldn't climb up the hierarchy to see the neighboring folder full of scans. This on a Mac running OSX, and the same on another Mac under OS9. Pretty disappointing, so I guess a phone call will be in order tomorrow morning to the main lab supervisor. :-(
