View Full Version : Favorite 400 Speed Color Print Film?
I love using Fuji Provia 400X Slide film, but the processing cost is killing me. So what 400 speed print film do you all prefer to use and why?
I've only shot Kodak 400UC and thought that the saturation was a bit lacking (even after some PP in Photoshop).
Looking for suggestions.

Fuji Pro 400H, may not save you any $...

Not the best image, but the only thing I've got scanned. This film handles different color lighting pretty well- here daylight from the left, fluorescent from above and a second fluoorescent from the lightbox
I don't usually use 400 speed film, but when I do, it's Fuji Pro 400H.

I used Fuji Superia 400 for a while, "upgraded" to 400H and now I'm back to Superia. It's cheap, readily available and I like the intense colour.
Lots of colour, even in dull lighting:

Skin tone is pretty good:

It can be quite grainy in the shadows, if that's an issue for you (large image):

And it looks pretty good desaturated:

Another vote for Portra VC, it's my favorite color print film for that speed in 35 and 120 format.
another for porta 400vc in35mm
