View Full Version : Challenging RFF project on M-camera

I have laying around some spare parts (e.g. a pristine top plate) that came from M4 and M6 camera’s. When I was cleaning out, I got the idea to set up a new RFF project: building together with other community members an M camera with spare parts that we have lying around. It would be very challenging to try to get a working RFF-camera. The aim is then that all RFF-members involved will take photos with this camera on a recurring basis. Why an M and not a LTM or other cam:
- first, I have only spare parts fitting an M,
- second, M is technically more challenging,
- of course we can extend this to other cam’s as well ….

First let us know if you are willing to participate and have the tools to work on M-camera’s. Also let us know whether you have spare parts which could be used for an M-project. Would be nice if we could lay our hands also on copies of blue prints.

Perhaps this is all too far fetched, but anyhow would be interesting to have you thoughts on this.

Thanks.

This would be quite a challenging and fun project. I'm sorry I can't cooperate because I don't have any "spare" parts lying around.

it would interesting to put an M-mount on something like a Zorki-1 ?? (assuming no-one wanted to sacrifice their barnack leica....)

In theory it's interesting... but how many of us have the desterity?

I have neither spare parts nor dexterity, but would like to see such a camera emerge from the forum. Can't say it's not an original idea... Good luck ! :)

I can offer
- speed setting wheel of an m6
- Black (plastic) part of the re-wind lever with screws.

However, I fear this will be a loooooooong term project.....
