While I'm in a posting mode...

My search of "MTF" in this forum has turned up empty. Does anyone know if/where there are any published MTF curves for the Bessa Classic Collection lenses?

Oh, and please, no replies along the lines of: "quit worrying about performance, quit testing, just go out there and take pictures..." I'm doing that all the time, and I'm happy with my little collection, but I can't help wondering...

There used to be a number of tests linked to at http://photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=009x9w, but they appear to be down and to have been methodically questionable anyway.

In that respect I like the second to last quote from that photo.net thread by Mike Dixon: "Jorge, I think you're making the same kind of mistake that I used to make--you're basing your opinion of how a lens performs on how your pictures look. I'm unfortunate enough to have a first-generation 50 Summilux, the one that's even worse than the mediocre resdesign of '62. If I trusted my own eyes, or the eyes of others who have seen my prints, I'd think that it was an excellent lens capable of producing outstanding images when not hindered by the limited competence of its owner. Fortunately, the many experts on the internet have helped me to understand what a poorly-perferming lens it truly is."

If anyone does happen to chance upon the MTF graphs for the Cosina Voigtlander lenses, do share. I'll be interested to have a read too!

Cheers,
