View Full Version : Canon L1 RF possible malfunction?
What would cause my L1 to give me split frames sometimes? Some of my developed images are a composite of TWO frames-not one overlapping the other, but are approx. half of each. I just bought it so I don't know service history.
Advice would be welcome.
Thanks,
Bill

The shutter is not releasing properly, if it was the wind you would get overlapping images (double exposure). The shutter is traveling properly then just releasing completely, causing no exposure. Not likely to get better with use.
You should be able to open the back and see it happen.

Sounds logical to me--many thanks!!

You will need to have it fixed, but it should not be a problem. I would however send it to someone like DAG that has a lot of experience with Canons.
Perhaps others will suggest someone they have had luck with on Canon.

Unfortunately, DAG is about 15,000 miles away from me. I'll take it to my competent and cheap guy in Seoul.
Thanks again!
