I never seen a Summar lens like this before. :)

Looks like a 50mm Jupiter lens with a new name plate... :) crafty... Why not shoot for the moon and call it a Summicron or something? :)

Both, the so called "Summar" and the camera body are Russian fakes. Nothing to do with Leica.

Yep - pretty sure its a J-8. I have bought some Russian lenses from this guy, though, and they were OK. But this is junk.

Ahhh yes, Summar of '42...
Here is another camera the seller has. A Jewish Leica copy to commeriate Israel becoming a nation in 1948.

Uh, it is being advertised as a copy, isn't it?

It's not so much of a copy as artistic impression. There was never a Summar like this. Closer to a Rigid Sonnar.
If the set were priced at $40, it would be OK.

That's a new one on me. Maybe someone's feeling the bad karma of too many tasteless faux-Nazi cameras and needs something to balance them.

LOL. Da.
So far, three bidders, though. I guess they're collectors. How many blatant Jupiter-8 faked to a Summar are there?
I hereby call it Summarsky.
Or Uranus-8; a few orbits beyond Jupiter ;)

Russian Copy Leica Camera with Summar
In the world of scams, the devil is in the pedantry. It doesn't say "Russian Copy Leica Camera with Russian Copy Summar".
Nor does anywhere is it said "for entertainment purposes only"; or "this is a satire of Leica", or some pretend-legal loophole like that. ;)

That`s scary!

Hilarious. Many would argue the J-8 is a better lens than the one it's trying to copy. (I don't have a J-8, but I do have a Summar, and I really like it btw).

I saw this on eBay a couple of weeks ago and found it quite hilarious:
"EXCELLENT COPY OF A LEICA RANGEFINDER OF THE "M" SERIES"
http://cgi.ebay.com/EXCELLENT-COPY-OF-A-LEICA-RANGEFINDER-OF-THE-M-SERIES_W0QQitemZ180224991646QQihZ008QQcategoryZ300 30QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemo
Correct me if I'm wrong, but what I see is undoubtedly FED-5 with Industar 61 L/D lens, both LTM, not M-bayonet. Another funny thing is that the bidding went up to $52 and reserve was not met...

I just took a look at the link... and the "excellent copy"...
Were there any true M-series Leicas that were marked " DRP " ? I thought all post-War Leicas were marked "Gmbh" ( or at least none were marked DRP after the war ? ) ?
