I'm new to this game of photography and thought I would try out some slide film for some nice colour. I got it developed at a 'pro' lab (Carousel, in Edmonton, AB) but they wouldn't scan it onto a CD because "they don't do that", referring strictly to E6. Any particular reason why they would not want to scan the slide film?

thanks.

I've never heard of "pro" lab which doesn't scan these days.
Might be they are some sort of Amish pro lab....

My only guess is that it maybe too expensive for them time-wise. Probably not a great guess on my part!

They probably lost the slide holder. Even the drug stores scan slides.

Henry's by any chance? I got the same response from the store in Ottawa. Will be the last time I use them for E6 development. They must be getting fat off of digital to bother providing service to film users, especially the few of us who stubbornly stick with slide film.

I've never run into a pro lab that doesn't scan E6. Hmm. Time to find another pro lab.

Slides are not easy to scan. May be they don't want to lose reputation by scanning clients stuff.

I never ask the lab to scan for me, because I don't want to lose my reputation :bang:. In time, I think I'll want to develop my E6 same reason
