Is this possible?
Has anyone experimented on this yet?
I think I want to try but if anyone has ideas on this combination, kindly reply.
Thanks

Do you mind if I ask why?

Say 'goodluck' :D

My quite unnecessary reasons:
1) d76 is easy to find and paracetamol too..
2) i want to experiment on something new
3) i would love to hear your comments on this or if it is ever, if ever, possible at all..

thanks ;)

So you're basically just thinking "What might happen if I throw a random chemical into my developer?"?

Here's a thought - will paracetamol actually dissolve in water/developer?

D76 and viagra...
put 35 mm film in the tank and get out 6x9 negatives...:D

I will use a paracetamol that is already in powder form. :)
There's a paracetamol that comes in capsules so there's this powder inside right?

@DC1030: Lol.. i hope not to try that :D

Maybe a little Prozac for reducing density!

My mind is fixed with making a parodinal. For that, I'll have to buy from a local store the chemicals required - yes, I have read the brochure.;)

Maybe I'm just trying to work out the available chemicals here in my turf before I sail on to that local store to buy the chemicals.

What's the biggest disturbance? Well, I was thinking if d76 can be strengthened a bit if I put some amount of paracetamol in it so that I wouldn't have to use 1+1 or 1+2 dilution.. I am hoping to get out of this "crash test" a stronger d76 as I am just starting on my journey towards this darkroom thing.

Well, if this is a crazy test then.. hehe charge to experience :bang: <-- :D

Were you by any chance thinking of making para-aminophenol (the active ingredient in Rodinal) from paracetamol? (which is acetaminophen).

HA! ...And if you experience negatives that need fixing for more than 4 hours, consult a physician immediately! :D

I was thinking of adding that element to the D76..

Well, there are a couple of methods here http://photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00FRaQ

for the conversion, which I've been wanting to try for some time as I have access to powdered paracetamol in my uni labs

Film dino's post #15 gives the first semblence of a chemical rationale behind this experiment. I think you should have a vague idea of the chemistry instead of going in in the dark. Otherwise it's just a cool sounding chemical tossed into your developer - could be ay number of things from paracetamol to colgate.

For that minty fresh film?

Acetaminophen, vitamin C, Berkeley microdots. Turns B&W into Col...

i tested it anyway.
d76+paracetamol.
will post the scan later.
sorry for bothering you guys..
i don't know chemistry but i'd like to try it anyway.
i'm fixing the negatives already..
yes, there are images that appeared to my relief :P

D - 76 and lysergic acid diethylamide was a favorite with Captain Al Hubbard in the early 1950s.

Al Hubbard..
For such a pivotal character in recent history, Al Hubbard is remarkably little known. He is the unsung man who almost single-handedly introduced the world to LSD (http://leda.lycaeum.org/Chemicals/LSD.10.shtml), as well as (to a lesser degree) mescaline (http://leda.lycaeum.org/Chemicals/Mescaline.12.shtml) and psilocybin (http://leda.lycaeum.org/Chemicals/Psilocybin.143.shtml). Albert Hoffman (http://www.hofmann.org/) may have invented LSD, but Hubbard is the one who, in the very early years, gave it away like candy to some of the most influential people on the planet. ( from http://www.thememoryhole.org/hubbard/ )

LOL. I'm beginning to realize how a funny guy I could be. :D

yes, this CIA connected man of mystery was the original Captain Trips.
at age 19 he made a so called fuel-less motor that ran a boat at full speed for three hours.
imagine if we had a guy like this running the Leica firm ?
