Can I do fill flash on a GSN?

Just wondering, can you do fill flash on the GSN? I would guess you put the ring on auto, but will it sync with the flash?

The flash will sync at all speeds. You can vary the strength by dialing down your flash, if possible.
that's what I thought cause it is a copal shutter. I have a vivitar 283 with the vp-1 module.

On mine, I use a small auto flash (Nikon SB-9 - GN14/45), and just close the aperture a stop or so from the what's recommended on the flash. The GSN takes care of the ambient.
