hi, i just picked up a good condition canodate e & canonet ql-25? does anyone know what batteries either of these take?

i read somewhere that the canodate e was essentially a canonet 28 (with a date function) - which takes a PX-625 (or equivalant)... other sites says it takes a PX-640 (or equivalent).

.... if anyone can shed some light it would be much appreciated.

cheers!

I haven't used a Canodate but most of the Canonets do take the 625 battery. The only exceptions I am aware of is the very early QL17s and the QL19E which took an MR1. Manuals for most here http://www.pentax-manuals.com/manuals/range/range.htm

hey, thanks for that... 625's are relatively cheap over here too! i just got that QL25 though the mail today... the shuttter fires etc, but when i first looked through the viewfinder all the frame/guide lines were crooked. i.e not on a horizontal plane.

is this still usable? it seems to be kinda alright now, but there also seems like there is something rattling round inside it.

i'm pretty sure the canodate e takes two 640 cells & i've found a source for them over here as well. it appears there's only one place in the whole of new zealand that stocks them!
