I am looking at an M6TTL on Ebay and wondering if that model has the same patch flair that I experienced with the M6. Do you know?

My M6TTL does flare/white out on occasion.

Yes it does. Consider new flare-free optics if you get one.

Yes, it does, and when it does it is pretty annoying. However, keep a piece of black tape handy, i suppose. Or scotch tape, and cover the rangefinder light collection window (what is that called?)

Yup, mine does. I also purchased a Ziess Ikon, which has a lovely viewfinder. However if one does not keep there eye centred the patch will disappear totally. To get it back, all one needs to do is reposition thier eye.

I have never been able to make my M3 flare under any conditions.

Mine has shown significant flare on occasion, but I can't say I've missed too many shots over it.
